leon gagiano

4th Dan
SOUTH AFRICA

With more than 42 years of karate experience, I began my training at age 11. Along the way, I’ve complemented my martial arts education with certifications in developmental psychology and Level 3 First Aid, enriching my understanding of both physical and mental development.

Known for my structured teaching style and attention to technical detail, I aim to help students grow with confidence and precision. My classes in Nigel, Balfour, Heidelberg, and Delmas serve as spaces for personal growth, discipline, and lifelong learning.

4th Dan
SOUTH AFRICA

I began karate in 1992, training across various styles before finding my home in Tenshinkan in 2013. Under Hanshi Hans and later Hanshi Attie, I was honored to travel to Japan and grade for my 3rd Dan under Kancho Miwa.

Now a 4th Dan, I continue to teach with passion and purpose. Representing South Africa at the ICO Championship in Frankfurt was a proud moment, and I remain committed to helping students grow through hard work, humility, and heart.

4th Dan
SOUTH AFRICA

Instructor, Tenshinkan South Gauteng.

Inspired by my sister, I began my karate journey at just five years old. Over the years, I’ve grown not only in skill but also in my understanding of the deeper meaning of karate: perseverance, self-respect, and focus.

In 2013, I earned my 1st Dan black belt in Denmark—a milestone that marked the start of my path as both a student and a teacher. In November 2023, I proudly earned my 4th Dan. Today, I teach alongside my sister, Shihan Cindy, in Randburg, and together we strive to create a safe, empowering space where students can thrive.
